The short version
Nothing you type into a calculator ever leaves your device. There is no account, no sign-up, and at present no cookies and no analytics of any kind.
What happens to what you type
Nothing. QuickOper is a static site: the pages are files, and the calculators are JavaScript that runs on your own machine after the page has loaded. Your balances, rates and payments are processed entirely in your browser's memory.
This is not a policy commitment we could quietly break — it is how the site is built. There is no server-side application and no database, so there is nothing that could receive your figures even if we wanted it to. The source is public at GitHub if you would like to check.
Shareable links
When you change a calculator's inputs, the web address updates so you can bookmark the result or send it to someone. That address is built and read in your browser; it is not transmitted to us.
The link carries figures, never names. Balances, interest rates and minimum payments are encoded; the labels you give your debts are not. A link you paste into a forum, a screenshot or an email therefore shows the numbers and never who you owe money to. This is deliberate.
Anyone you send the link to can see the figures in it, so treat it as you would any other message containing personal detail.
Downloads and printing
Spreadsheet exports and printable documents are generated in your browser from data already on your screen. Nothing is uploaded in order to produce them, and we never see the file.
Cookies and local storage
QuickOper currently sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser's storage. If that changes, this page will say so before it happens and the date above will be updated.
Server logs
The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard request information — including your IP address — in order to deliver pages and protect against attack. That is a normal function of any web host, and it applies to the request for the page, not to anything you enter into a calculator. Cloudflare acts as our hosting provider and handles that data under its own terms.
Analytics and advertising — not yet in use
Neither of the following is live today. This section describes what we intend to introduce, so the change is not a surprise. When either is switched on, this page will be updated and this notice removed.
Analytics. We plan to measure how many people visit which pages, using a cookieless method that does not identify individuals or follow them between sites. Calculator inputs will never be included in any measurement — an event may record that a calculation was completed, never what was calculated.
Advertising. The site may later carry advertising supplied by Google, including through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure adverts, and may use information about your visits to this and other sites to show adverts relevant to you.
- Google's use of advertising cookies is described in its advertising policies.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's ad settings.
- Visitors in the UK and EU will be asked for consent before any advertising or measurement cookie is set, through a certified consent tool.
- Advertising will never influence what a calculator returns. The arithmetic does not know what is on the page beside it.
Children
QuickOper is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Data protection law gives you rights to access, correct and erase personal data held about you. In practice we hold none: there are no accounts, no mailing list and no stored calculator inputs. If you have emailed us, we hold that correspondence and will delete it on request.
